HPAT – Ireland (Health Professions Admission Test-Ireland).  The test measures a candidate’s logical reasoning and problem solving skills as well as non-verbal reasoning and the ability to understand the thoughts, behaviour and/or intentions of people.

HPAT offer preparation HPAT Courses which are taught by experienced professional academics (many others use our past MedEntry students to teach their courses).

Restricted entry courses are courses which need to be appllied for through the CAO because they cannot be added after the February 1 closing date.  Select the option for restricted courses once the website opens.

The UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT) is committed to achieving greater fairness in selection to medicine and dentistry and to the widening participation in medical and dental training of under-represented social groups.

The maximum overall score possible is theoretically 300, but in reality very few students obtain an overall score over 200 (they are usually in the top 1% of candidates). Last year the highest overall HPAT score obtained was 237 (obtained by a MedEntry student).
